The Power of Dua: A Collection of Daily Supplications

Dua, or supplication, is an act of making du’a’ (supplication) to Allah (God). A common misconception in the Muslim community is that Muslims only say dua when they are sick or facing hardships, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Supplications are an act of worship, so they should be made on a daily basis as part of your daily routine. When we turn to God by making these supplications, we remind ourselves that He has given us everything we have, and it makes our dependence on Him that much more evident.

To be in a state of remembrance

Healing from riya
I am constantly amazed by the power of Dua, and how it can heal us from the things that ail us. I have compiled a list of Duas for healing from riya, or showiness, which is a common issue we all face.

One of

the most important things we can do is to be in a state of remembrance. This means making sure that we take time out of our day to remember Allah and to make dua for His help and guidance. One way to do this is to set aside a specific time each day for prayer and reflection. This can be done first thing in the morning, or last thing at night. It doesn’t matter when, as long as you are consistent. Take some time to think about what your needs are, and then ask Allah to grant them.

It’s also helpful to memorize certain prayers so that they come naturally when you need them. There are many supplications which deal with both spiritual and worldly needs.

Dua can be made in any language, so it’s best not to worry about knowing Arabic if it’s not your native tongue. But it it’sit’s best

Purification

There is great power in making dua, or supplication, to Allah. It is a means of purifying the heart and drawing closer to our Creator. The following are some duas for purification that can be recited daily

For long life and good health

It is well known that duas, or supplications, are a powerful form of worship. Muslims believe that when we make dua to Allah, we are actually connecting with Him and asking for His help. The Prophet Muhammad said, When one of you needs something from his Lord but has no power over it, he should pray to his Lord saying O my Lord! If You will grant me what I want, then I will give in charity. But if You do not grant him what he wants, then let him be patient.

For financial success

Dua is an incredibly powerful tool that can help to manifest our deepest desires. When it comes to financial success, there are a few key duas that can be recited on a daily basis in order to attract abundance.

Supplications for provision / wealth

O Allah, suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You have forbidden , and make me independent of all others besides You. [1].

Allaahummak-finee bihalaalika ‘an haraamika wa ‘aghninee bifadhlika ‘amman siwaaka.

O Allah , I seek refuge in You from grief and sadness, from weakness and from laziness, from miserliness and from cowardice, from | being overcome by debt and from being overpowered by men (i .e. other people).[2]

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika minal-hammi walhazani, wal’ajzi walkasali, walbukhli waljubni, wa dhala’id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijaali .

O Allaah! I ask You for guidance, piety, safety and well-being, and contentment and sufficiency

Allaahumma innee as’alukal-hudaa wat-tuqaa wal-‘afaafa wal-ghinaa

O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, guard me against harm and provide me with sustenance and salvation

Allahumm-aghfir li, warhamni, wa-hdini, wa ‘afini, warzuqni

O Allah, increase my wealth and offspring, and bless me in what You have given me [1] [and direct my life to Your obedience and rectify my actions] and forgive my sins [2]

ALlahumma ‘akthir maalee, wa waladee, wa baarik lee feemaa a’taytanee [wa ‘atil hayaatee alaa taa’atika wa ‘ahsin ‘amalee] waghfir lee

This du’aa (supplication) is from the most comprehensive and beneficial du’aas (supplications), since it includes asking Allaah for well-being with regards to both the Religion and the world. [Bahjatul-Quloobul-Abraar (p.198)]

For overcoming stress

Allah is the Most Merciful and He knows what is best for us. Sometimes, things happen that are beyond our control and we can find ourselves feeling stressed. When we turn to Allah in du’a, we are putting our trust in Him and asking for His help. This can be a very powerful act of worship that can help us to feel calm and at peace. We must remind ourselves that everything happens according to the will of Allah and we cannot do anything about it. We should also remember that whatever hardships come into our lives are only temporary and when they end, there will be some form of reward waiting for us.

For dealing with worries

When you’re feeling overwhelmed with worry, take a moment to stop and make dua. It’s a powerful act of worship that can help you feel calmer and more in control. Here are some specific duas to recite when you’re feeling anxious or stressed

To increase in taqwa

Taqwa is often translated as piety, fear of Allah, or God-consciousness. It is the fear and love of Allah that motivates a person to do what is right and stay away from what is wrong. The more a person has taqwa, the closer they will feel to Allah, and the more they will want to please Him. Here are five ways to increase taqwa

1) Actively seek knowledge about Islam

2) Purify your intentions by staying mindful of death and your final destination

3) Choose righteous friends who help you stay focused on your goals

4) Stay close to Allah by praying salah

5) Remember Allah in everything you do.

With these steps, we can strengthen our relationship with Allah and purify our intention so we may come closer to him. When we become more self-aware of our shortcomings, then it can motivate us to work harder toward pleasing Allah through daily tasks like submitting dawah literature through social media outlets, creating hashtag campaigns for world issues such as poverty awareness initiatives, educating people on how specific food choices affect global climate change levels or fighting for animal rights.

I believe in order to help oneself grow spiritually, it is essential to create time during the day to give thanks and praise for all the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us. So take this moment now before you continue reading and remember His name in gratitude for all He has given you today.

Let’s not forget those around the world who need our help most! And remember to be kind and forgiving. We live in a world where at any point someone could insult you without warning. And when they do, ask yourself if their insult would make you angry enough to cut off ties with them? If not, try taking this opportunity to learn something new about them instead of reacting negatively. Think of your anger against them as fuel to drive you forward.

Remain patient and forgive because there will always be insults hurled at you. There will always be people who don’t agree with your lifestyle choices and won’t let up until they break you down.

Don’t let them get the best of you. Rise above it all. Keep walking even when others shake their heads at you in disappointment. You have been blessed with an inner peace that other people envy. It’s okay to be misunderstood sometimes because doing the right thing isn’t always popular.

Know your worth, know who you are and never lose sight of your goal. Take care of yourself by eating well, getting good sleep and exercise, making time for hobbies, spending quality time with loved ones, practicing positive thinking and avoiding toxic relationships.

To succeed in one’s business

  1. Recognize that Allah is the ultimate source of success and that our efforts are only a means to an end.
  2. Make dua to Allah for guidance and assistance in all your endeavors.
  3. Be sincere in your intentions and strive to do your best.
  4. Be patient and persevere through difficulties, knowing that Allah is with you.
  5. Give thanks for your successes, knowing that they are from Allah.
  6. Remember that Allah knows what we don’t, so be content with His decree.
  7. Establish a relationship with Him by performing ibaadah regularly and seeking His help through dua every day.
  8. Appreciate the blessings He has bestowed upon us as we have not earned them on our own accord, which includes family, health, wealth and more. Reflect on this knowledge, and recognize that none of these things can harm or benefit us without the will of Allah. When faced with a difficult situation, remember that it may just be because Allah wants something better for us in the future. And when experiencing joyous moments, thank Him profusely and make sure to share them with others as well.

For forgiveness

We all make mistakes, large and small. And we all seek forgiveness from those we have wronged. Whether it’s a colleague, friend, or family member, asking for forgiveness can be difficult. But the power of dua, or supplication, can help to ease the process.

Dua is a powerful tool that we can use to communicate with Allah (swt). It is a way to express our desires, needs, and thanks to Him. There are many Duas that we can recite on a daily basis, and each one has the potential to change our lives for the better. Here is the Duas to seek His forgiveness and repentance

Duas for Forgiveness

I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Mighty, Whom there is none worthy of worship except Him, The Living, The Eternal, and I repent unto Him

O my Lord forgive me and accept my repentance indeed You are the One who forgives and most merciful.

Rab-bigh-firlee wa tubb alayya Innaka anta at-Tawaabu ar-Raheem

[1] A person who says [the words of this dua] even if he has committed sins as much as the the foam of an ocean, still he will be forgiven. [Abu Dawud- 2:85/ Tirmidhi 5:569]
[2] From Ibn Umar -RadhiAllaahu anhumma- who said:‘We would count that the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- would say in one sitting one hundred times: [this dua]. [Collected by Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi & authenticated by Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood 5/248]

Seeking Forgiveness and Repentance

‘The Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said: ‘By Allaah, I seek forgiveness and repent to Allaah, more than seventy times a day.’

He (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘O People, Repent to Allaah! Verily I repent to Him a hundred times a day.’

He (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘Whoever says:

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إلَّا هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيّوُمُ وأَتُوبُ إِلَيهِ

‘I seek Allaah’s forgiveness, besides whom, none has the right to be worshipped except He, The Ever Living, The Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, and I turn to Him in repentance.’

‘Astaghfirullaahal-ladhee laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoomu wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi.

…Allaah would forgive him even if he was one who fled during the advance of an army.’

He (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said: ‘The nearest the Lord comes to His servant is in the middle of the night, so if you are able to be of those who remember Allaah at that time, then be so.’

He (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘The nearest a servant is to his Lord is when he is prostrate, so supplicate much therein.’

He (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘Verily my heart becomes preoccupied , and verily I seek Allaah’s forgiveness a hundred times a day.’

Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed Signs for men of understanding. Those who remember Allah standing, sitting and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying:) ‘Our LordA You. have not created this without purpose, glory is to You! Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced him, and never will the oppressors find any helpers. Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one calling to Faith (saying:) ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness together with the pious and righteous slaves. Our Lord! Grant us what You promised us through Your Messengers, and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) promise.’ So, their Lord answered them (saying): ‘Never will I allow to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female. You issue forth one from another, so those who emigrated and were driven out from their homes, and suffered harm in My Cause and who fought, and were killed in My Cause, verily, I will expiate from them their evil deeds and admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow ; a reward from Allah , and with Allah is the best of rewards .’ Let not the free disposal of the disbelievers through out the land deceive you . A brief enjoyment ; then , their ultimate abode is Hell ; and worst indeed is that place for rest . But , for those who fear their Lord, are Gardens under which rivers flow ; therein are they to dwell forever , and entertainment from Allah ; and that which is with Allah is the best for the pious and righteous slaves . And there are , certainly , among the people of the Scripture , those who believe in Allah and in that which has been revealed to you , and in that which has been revealed to them , hum bling themselves before Allah . They do not sell the Verses of Allah for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord . Surely , Allah is Swift in account . O you who believe! Have patience and contend in patience, be vigilant and informed, and fear Allah , so that you may be successful.

(Recite three times) . Aboo Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet : “Whoever recites in the evening three times; I seek protection in the perfect words of Allah from every evil that He has created, then not so much as a stinger (humah) will harm him that evening.” In Muslim there is a similar wording without mention of reciting the supplication thrice (#2709) and at-Tirmidhee (#3898), and al-‘Alaamah Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy upon him) mentioned it in Tuhfat-ul-Akhyaar, saying: “The noun al-Humah denotes an animal that possess a stinger filled with poison like a scorpion, snake or something similar. And Suhayl bin Saalih who is one of the narrators of this narration said: “Our people had learned this supplication and we used to recite it every evening when a teenage girl was stung but suffered no pain or affliction (from the sting)”. (Recite three times) Related by Aboo Daawud (#5088) from ‘Uthmaan bin ‘Afaan (may Allah be pleased with him), and its wording is: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: “Whoever says three times; In the name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on the earth or in the heavens can cause harm, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, he will not be afflicted with an unexpected affliction until he reaches the morning, and whoever recites it three times upon entering the morning he will not be afflicted with an unexpected affliction until he reaches the evening.” Shaykh al-Albaanee (may Allah have mercy upon him) authenticated it in Saheeh Abee Daawud (#5088). And it was narrated by Abaan bin ‘Uthmaan said: I heard ‘Uthmaan bin ‘Afaan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah said: “There is not a slave who recites three times in the morning of every day and in the evening of every night; In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on the earth or in the heavens can cause harm, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, and have anything harm him.” And Abaan had been afflicted with a bout of paralysis when a man began staring at him so Abaan said to him,” What are you staring at? Did I not inform you of the narration however I had not recited the supplication the day Allah carried out over me what is from His Divine Decree?” Related by atTirmidhee (#3388) and Ibn Maajah (#3869), at-Tirmidhee said: It is Hasan Saheeh and al-‘Alaamah Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy upon him) agreed with its grade in Tuhfat-ul-Akhyaar

O Allah , lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us . O Allah, You are our Companion on the road and the One in Whose care we leave our family . Prayer of the traveller as dawn approaches

He Who listens has heard that we praise Allah for the good things He gives us. Our Lord, be with us and bestow Your favor upon us. I seek the protection of Allah from the Fire.

Sami’a saami’un bihamdillaahi wa husni balaa’ihi ‘alaynaa. Rabbanaa saahibnaa, wa ‘afdhil ‘alaynaa ‘aa’ithan billaahi minan-naar.

Reference: Muslim 4/2086, the meaning of sami’a saami’un (who listens has heard) is that ‘a witness has witnessed our praise of Allah due to His blessings and favor upon us.’ It could also be read samma’a saami’un, in which case it means ‘one who has heard this statement of mine will convey it to another and he will say it as well.’ This is due to the attention given to the Thikr (remembrance of Allah) and supplications made during the early morning hours. The meaning of his saying ‘Our Lord, be with us and bestow Your favor upon us’ is: ‘Our Lord, protect us and guard us. Bless us with Your numerous bounties, and avert from us every evil.’ See An-Nawawi, Sharh Sahih Muslim 17/39.

While returning from travel

Ibn ‘Umar (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhaa) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) on return from a battle or from performing the pilgrimage would say at every high point:

‘Allaah is the greatest, Allaah is the greatest, Allaah is the greatest.’

…and then he would say:

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone , Who has no partner . His is the dominion and His is the praise , and He is Able to do all things. We return repentant to our Lord, worshipping our Lord , and praising our Lord . He fulfilled His Promise, He aided His slave, and He alone defeated the Confederates.

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku, wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shay ‘in Qadeer, ‘aa’iboona, taa’iboona, ‘aabidoona, lirabbinaa haamidoona, sadaqallaahu wa’dahu, wa nasara ‘abdahu, wa hazamal-‘ahzaaba wahdahu.

Dua for istikhara

Seeking guidance in forming a decision or choosing the proper course etc. [al Istikhaarah]

On the authority of Jaabir Ibn ‘Adbullaah (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhu), he said: The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) would instruct us to pray for guidance in all of our concerns, just as he would teach us a Soorah from the Qur.aan. He (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) would say ‘If any of you intends to undertake a matter then let him pray two supererogatory units [two rak’ah naafilah] of prayer and after which he should supplicate:

O Allah, I seek the counsel of Your Knowledge, and I seek the help of Your Omnipotence, and I beseech You for Your Magnificent Grace. Surely, You are Capable and I am not. You know and I know not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter [then mention the thing to be decided] is good for me in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, – [or say: in this life and the afterlife] – then ordain it for me and make it easy for me, then bless me in it. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, – [or say: in this life and the afterlife] – then distance it from me, and distance me from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, and help me to be content with it.

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘astakheeruka bi’ilmika, wa ‘astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa ‘as’aluka min fadhtikal-‘Adheemi, fa’innaka taqdiru wa laa ‘aqdiru, wa ta’lamu, wa laa ‘a’lamu, wa ‘Anta ‘Allaamul-Ghuyoobi, Allaahumma ‘in kunta ta’lamu ‘anna haadhal-‘amra-[then mention the thing to be decided] Khayrun lee fee deenee wa ma’aashee wa ‘aaqibati ‘amree – [or say] ‘Aajilihi wa ‘aajilihi – Faqdurhu lee wa yassirhu lee thumma baarik lee feehi, wa ‘in kunta ta’lamu ‘anna haadhal-‘amra sharrun lee fee deenee wa ma’aashee wa ‘aaqibati ‘amree – [or say] ‘Aajilihi wa ‘aajilihi – Fasrifhu ‘annee wasrifnee ‘anhu waqdur liyal-khayra haythu kaana thumma ‘ardhinee bihi.

Whoever seeks the counsel of the Creator will not regret it and whoever seeks the advice of the believers will feel confident about his decisions . Allah said in the Qur’an:

…and consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision put your trust in Allaah…

Allah! There is none worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Recite in Arabic after each prayer.) .

[Soorah al-Baqarah: Ayah(255)]

The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘Whoever recites the last two Aayahs of Soorah al-Baqarah at night, those two Aayahs shall be sufficient for him .’

The Messenger believes in what has been send down to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between any of His Messengers,” and they say: “We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return.” Allah burdens not a person beyond what he can bear. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us. Our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Protector, and help us against the disbelieving people.

[Soorah al-Baqarah, Aayahs 285-286]

If one of you rises from his bed and then returns to it he should dust it with the edge of his garment three times for he does not know what has occurred in his absence and when he lies down he should supplicate:

بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّي وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي، وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ، فَإِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا، بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

In Your name my Lord, I lie down and in Your name I rise, so if You should take my soul then have mercy upon it, and if You should return my soul then protect it in the manner You do so with Your righteous servants.

Bismika Rabbee wadha’tu janbee , wa bika ‘arfa’uhu, fa’in ‘amsakta nafsee farhamhaa, wa ‘in ‘arsaltahaa fahfadhhaa, bimaa tahfadhu bihi ‘ibaadakas-saaliheen.

O Allaah, verily You have created my soul and You shall take it’s life, to You belong it’s life and death. If You should keep my soul alive then protect it, and if You should take it’s life then forgive it. O Allaah, I ask You to grant me good health.

The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) would place his right hand under his cheek when about to sleep and supplicate:

اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ

O Allaah, protect me from Your punishment on the day Your servants are resurrected.’ [three times]

Allaahumma qinee ‘athaabaka yawma tab’athu ‘ibaadaka.

In Your name O Allaah, I live and die.

Bismika Allaahumma ‘amootu wa ‘ahyaa.

‘Shall I not direct you both to something better than a servant? When you go to bed say:’

All praise is for Allaah. [thirty-three times]

Allaah is the greatest. [thirty-four times]

allaahu ‘Akbar

…for that is indeed better for you both than a servant.

O Allaah, Lord of the seven heavens and the exalted throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the seed and the date stone, Revealer of the Towraat, the Injeel and the Furqaan, I take refuge in You from the evil of all things You shall seize by the forelock . O Allaah, You are The First so there is nothing before You and You are The Last so there is nothing after You. You are ath-Thaahir so there is nothing above You and You are al-Baatin so there is nothing closer than You. Settle our debt for us and spare us from poverty.

All praise is for Allaah, Who fed us and gave us drink, and Who is sufficient for us and has sheltered us, for how many have none to suffice them or shelter them.

Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee ‘at’amanaa wa saqaanaa, wa kafaanaa, wa ‘aawaanaa, fakam mimman laa kaafiya lahu wa laa mu’wiya.

O Allaah, Knower of the seen and the unseen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I take refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil and shirk of the devil, and from committing wrong against my soul or bringing such upon another Muslim.

Allaahumma ‘Aalimal-ghaybi wash-shahaadati faatiras-samaawaati wal’ardhi, Rabba kulli shay ‘in wa maleekahu, ‘ash-hadu ‘an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta, ‘a’oothu bika min sharri nafsee, wa min sharrish-shaytaani wa shirkihi, wa ‘an ‘aqtarifa ‘alaa nafsee soo ‘an, ‘aw ‘ajurrahu ‘ilaa Muslimin.

The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) never used to sleep until he had recited Soorah as-Sajdah and Soorah al-Mulk.

If you take to your bed, then perform ablution, lie on your right side and then supplicate:

O Allaah, I submit my soul unto You, and I entrust my affair unto You, and I turn my face towards You, and I totally rely on You, in hope and fear of You. Verily there is no refuge nor safe haven from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.

Allaahumma ‘aslamtu nafsee ‘ilayka, wa fawwadhtu ‘amree ‘ilayka, wa wajjahtu wajhee ‘ilayka, wa ‘alja’tu dhahree ‘ilayka, raghbatan wa rahbatan ‘ilayka, laa raalja’ wa laa manja minka ‘illaa ‘ilayka, ‘aamantu bikitaabikal-lathee ‘anzalta wa bi-nabiyyikal-lathee ‘arsalta.

…If you then die, you will die upon the fitrah .

Dua for sick person

When visiting the sick

When The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) would enter upon a sick person, he would say:

لا بأْسَ طَهـورٌ إِنْ شـاءَ الله

Do not worry, it will be a purification (for you) , Allah willing.[1]

Laa ba’sa tahoorun ‘inshaa’Allaah.

Any Muslim servant who visits a sick person whose prescribed moment of death has not arrived and supplicates seven times:

أَسْأَلُ اللهَ العَـظيـم، رَبَّ العَـرْشِ العَـظيـم أَنْ يَشْفـيك .(سبع مرات)

I ask Almighty Allah , Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to make you well. (Recite seven times in Arabic.)[2]

O Allah , forgive me and have mercy upon me and join me with the highest companions (in Paradise). [1].

Allaahum-maghfir lee warhamnee wa ‘alhiqnee bir-rafeeqil-‘a’laa.

‘Aa.ishah (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhaa) related that The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) [during his illness in which he passed away] would dip his hands in water and then he would wipe his face and say:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله، إِنَّ للمَـوْتِ لَسَكَـرات

There is none worthy of worship but Allah , surely death has agonies. [2]

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu ‘inna lilmawti lasakaraatin.

There is none worthy of worship but Allah , Allah is the Most Great . None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone . None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone , Who has no partner. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, His is the dominion and His is the praise. There is none worthy of worship but Allah , there is no power and no might but by Allah.[3]
