Surah Al Adiyat, also known as “The Coursers,” is the 100th chapter of the Qur’an. This surah is composed of 11 verses and is written in Arabic as العاديات. The title “The Coursers” refers to swift, racing horses, and the surah discusses various themes within its 11 verses.

No. of Surah Surah Adiyat Transliteration Surah Adiyat English Translation Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem In the name of Allah , Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 1 Wal’aadi yaati dabha By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 2 Fal moori yaati qadha And strike sparks of fire, 3 Fal mugheeraati subha And push home the charge in the morning, 4 Fa atharna bihee naq’a And raise the dust in clouds the while, 5 Fawa satna bihee jam’a And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 6 Innal-insana lirabbihee lakanood Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 7 Wa innahu ‘alaa zaalika la shaheed And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 8 Wa innahu lihubbil khairi la shadeed And violent is he in his love of wealth. 9 Afala ya’lamu iza b’uthira ma filquboor Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 10 Wa hussila maa fis sudoor And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- 11 Inna rabbahum bihim yauma ‘izin lakhabeer That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day?

Verse Arabic Text 1 بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ 2 وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا 3 فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا 4 فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا 5 فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا 6 فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا 7 إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ 8 وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ 9 وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ 10 أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ 11 وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ 12 إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ
