Sheikh Raad is a popular Quran reciter from Kurdistan, Iraq. The famous Qari is known for his melodious recitation of the Holy Quran and as the Imam of Imam Al-Shafi’i Mosque in Kirkuk.

Raad Muhammad Abdul Rahman Saleh Al-Kurdi is from Kirkuk, Iraq. He memorized the Quran at a very tender age.
Raad grew up in Kirkuk and completed his primary, secondary, and college education there.
His Quranic Journey
In an interview that detailed Sheikh Raad Al Kurdi biography, he said that he first listened to the recitation of popular Quran reciter Abdulbasit afterwards, he fell in love with the style of the Egyptian reciter.
The Qari/reciter participated in several contests and won many as a child.
Fast forward to 2007, when he was appointed as an imam in Kirkuk to start leading congregational prayers at Al-Shafi’i Mosque when he was 16, along with Dr. Abdul Latif Ahmed, who is now late. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, and bless him with the highest place in Paradise.
He obtained a traditional license in recitation from Sheikh Ibrahim bin Fadel Al-Mashhadani.
