Ali Albarghouthi graduated from the Wilfred Laurier-University of Waterloo Ph.D. Program in Religious Studies with a doctorate in religious studies.
His dissertation examined Ijtihad and reform among North American Muslims. Ali Albarghouthi is the current director of the Institute for Muslim Research and Progress and previously taught at the University of Saskatchewan.
At ISNA Canada and the Khalid ibn al-Waleed Mosque, Ali Albarghouthi serves as the educational coordinator, khateeb, and instructor.
