Ammar Alshukry’s Biography

Shaykh Ammar AlShukry is a New Yorker originally from Queens, Sudan. Islamic studies and marketing double majors. A Director at AlMaghrib and an Imam at the Islamic Center of Clear Lake. What the Pen Wrote: The Collected Poems of Ammar AlShukry, a collection of his poetry, is one of his works. His upcoming course, A Mindful Salah, is slated to begin in early 2022.

Ammar AlShukry, the winner of the AlMaghrib Grand Slam, has excelled in his volunteer work and has served as the initial Ameer of QTayybah, HQ staff, a graduate, and a current instructor.

Ammar started learning about the Quran, Hadith, Aqeedah, Fiqh, and Tafseer in New York with a variety of tutors.

He was able to learn from experts outside of the tri-state area, including Shaykh Salah Al-Sawwy, Dr. Hatem El-Haj, Shaykh Mamdouh Mahmoud, and Shaykh Waleed Basyouni, Vice-President of the AlMaghrib Institute.

He graduated from AlMaghrib Institute with a degree in Islamic Sciences.

He can transition between generations with ease. Ammar is also well renowned for his profound and emotional poetry, including the timeless works “Jannah,” “Until I See You,” and “The Witr.”
